a queer chaplain
β¨ Holding space. Sharing stories. Sparkling the sacred. β¨
Hosted by Bonnie Violet Quintana β a trans femme genderqueer spiritual drag artist and digital chaplain β A Queer Chaplain podcast is where healing meets glitter, spirituality meets skepticism, and the sacred is reclaimed, one story at a time.
This podcast is a soft landing for the tender, the curious, the ex-religious, the spiritual-ish, the seekers, the creators, the joyful, the recovering, and the beautifully complicated. Each episode weaves together interviews, reflections, and spiritual drag β pulling threads from across Bonnie Violetβs work as a community organizer, podcaster, and chaplain.
Whether weβre talking about gender blessings, queer grief, trans joy, drag as ministry, or the awkward holiness of just being human β this is a space for honest conversation, healing possibilities, and connection that doesnβt require belief β just curiosity.
Expect episodes that dip into:
- β¨ Stories from LGBTQ2SIA+ folks healing from and reimagining spiritual life
- π Sacred drag performances and reflections
- π§ββοΈ Queer recovery, rituals, and rites of passage
- π€ Highlights from Bonnieβs many projects like Trans Joy Boise, Drag & Spirituality, Cut & Uncut, and more
- π Spiritual services β from weddings to memorials to drag blessings β and the radical ways we honor each other
This is your digital sanctuary β with rhinestones
.
βSheβs not here to fix or convert β just to accompany, witness, and help people feel more connected and more themselves.β

π GOD in Drag - an interview with a queer chaplain - Bonnie Violet
For me, I have always had the sense that the transgender soul and the art of drag naturally open us up to the highest levels of Spirituality.
Ram Dass once famously said, "Treat everyone like GOD in drag." This speaks to me as to how we are all living as slight representations of who we truly are.
What could we be if we weren't afraid to be authentic and open to modalities that "polite society" frowns upon.
On today's show Pete interviews Bonnie Violet who runs the "A Queer Chaplain" show here on YouTube. We explore the art of drag, spirituality, and the connection for the transgender with the Divine.
